After the boxing world was left stunned from the controversial split decision win in Newark, New Jersey on July 6th, Mauricio Sulaimán, President of the World Boxing Council (WBC), has announced via social media that there will be an official rematch between O’shaquie Foster and Robson Conceição.
“The WBC Board of Governors has ruled to order a direct rematch between WBC super-featherweight champion Robson Conceição and former champion O’Shaquie Foster,” Sulaimán wrote.
There is currently no fight date or location, but we know that plans are being put in motion to make it happen. The question remains – will Foster do what it takes to regain the title or will Conceição stun once again to retain the WBC belt. Hopefully, there will be a new set of judges to keep tally.
